the word bugger

which is simultaneously

homophobic

racist and

sectarian

it comes from the word bougre

an insult derived from Bulgar

as in Bulgaria

[making it racist]

which was seen

in the 12^th Century

as the source of the cathar heresy

[and is thus sectarian]

who were later

whilst europe was being readied for their

extermination

maligned as having

unnatural sexual practices

[and is thus homophobic]

And as the phrase is using a tool of mass murder

And making light of it

This also makes it akin to

Holocaust denial

Which makes it a powerfully ugly word to use

Which is a shame

Because its so good to say

bugger
